Lovely Side Bun Tutorial

Meet my crazy sidekick Katie! One night at the salon we decided to have some fun. So here, with the help of her fabulous hair, we created a tutorial!

So, on dry hair, using a Express Ion Style Flat Iron, create waves in your hair by taking small sections of your hair, turning the flat iron, and pulling it through. It sounds tricky, but its actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Don't have a flat iron? Use a 1'' curling iron and curl your whole entire head.

Once you have that down, use a texturizing product, such as Spray Wax by Paul Mitchell, this will create a nice base in your hair, that will make the hair easier to work with later.
Create lots of volume in your crown area, my favorite brush to use, is the teasing brush by Paul Mitchell, it has natural bristles at different lengths, and it makes it easy to build tease in the hair.
After teasing, your hair should look like this, not too "snookie-poof" just minimal volume.

Then, you will want to separate the hair, leave out both side sections, and collect the rest of the hair into a low pony tail and secure with an elastic band.
After that, take small sections from your ponytail, and gather into a curl, and secure with a bobby pin. (See picture below.)
Continue this way, until there is no hair left from the ponytail that hasnt been pinned.
Next, take sections from the front, and pin it into the back, and secure with extra pins!

Spray with a firm hold hairspray, and your good to go! Now time to go out and show off your freshly styled hair!
